The FR / EO Skates 2mm Carbon Shims are premium micrometric hardware components engineered to optimize high-end frame setups on your skates. Crafted from high-density carbon fiber, these 2mm lifters solve common clearance issues by lifting the boot just enough to ensure large diameter wheels never rub against the bottom of your shell.
Why your setup needs this
Eliminates Wheel Bite: When mounting modern setups with 110mm or 125mm wheels on specific boots, the wheel profile can rub against the boot sole. These 2mm shims lift the boot safely, creating the necessary clearance without noticeably affecting your center of gravity.
Zero Energy Loss: Unlike plastic shims or soft rubber wedges that flex and absorb your stride power, FR-EO carbon shims maintain absolute structural rigidity. 100% of your lateral push energy is transferred instantly from boot to frame.
Even Pressure Distribution: Precision CNC-machined flat surfaces ensure a perfect flush seating between the boot block and the frame bridge, preventing stress fractures or micro-cracks on expensive carbon fiber frames.
Absolute Featherweight: Virtually non-existent on the scale. Made from aerospace-grade carbon, they add the required height without adding rotational weight that ruins marathon or sprint performance.
Compatibility Note & Required Hardware
By adding 2mm of height with these shims, the standard threading distance is reduced. Your original 13mm mounting screws will become too short and could strip or damage the frame threads under high stress.
Technical Recommendation: Must be used in combination with the FR - EO Frames Mounting Screw 16mm Set to guarantee deep, airtight, and 100% secure thread engagement.
